The Writing Success! Series contains ready-to-use writing scaffolds that teach writing skills. The units guide students through the steps of creating extended pieces of writing in the three key text categories: Imaginative, Informative and Persuasive.

The fourteen units explicitly teach the skills of writing a wide range of text types including Short Stories, Poetry, Expositions and Discussions, Text Reviews and Text Responses, Reports, Descriptions, Recounts and Explanations. In each of the units, students analyse and learn from a real-life focus text. They examine the texts structure, stages and language features and then apply this information and knowledge to start writing on their own.

A selection of graphic organisers assist students to brainstorm ideas and end-of-unit assessment rubrics can be used by students, teachers or tutors to evaluate the text draft and suggest improvements.
