Where all the well-known books, and the ones you need to discover, are found.
Bricks and mortar
Our store is regularly praised for its traditional bookshop character. Set in the midst of Palmerston North’s arts and cultural hub, the warm and intimate atmosphere reflects our ideal location under the city library. “Independent” – means we’re booklovers – we handpick books we think you’ll like and enjoy. Our well-sourced and edited selection means we don’t sell everything, we just sell the best. Online our infinite choice of literature will also beckon. And if it’s not in stock, we’ll get it for you.
Well Read
Bruce McKenzie’s experience as a bookseller is extensive; his independent bookshop is a fulfilment of over five decades in the industry and a lifelong love of literature. Bruce McKenzie Booksellers’ philosophy is built on ethics of service, knowledge and good humour. We’re a serious, wide-ranged bookshop, that follows reading trends, while also looking for the unique and unusual, and the stunning and sublime.
The perfect spot for a bookshop.
